In Praise of Project Hope Hi Doll, My name is Jill and I just wanted to say thank you for all you do! We adopted Teddy-Bear from Chris McLaughlin Animal Rescue Front Cape Cod, Mass. He was a stray in Waveland, Miss. and was a part of the shelter nightmare. He was mistreated in the Waveland shelter and Chris got him out of there just in time. She put him on one of her transport and we picked him up in Ct. They called him "Husky-Boy." He didn't have a name, he wandered the streets of Waveland and survived Katrina starved, sick from heartworm and homeless. He is a true surviver! He was on the edge of death by the time we got him 30 lbs under weight and LOADED with heartworm he was only 14 months old at the time. We have a wonderful vet who knew just how to care for him. He almost died from the treatment, but the doc. was prepared for the worst. He has now been with us for over a year and we love him so much. I am so glad you all saved his life, he is the most incredible dog/family member and words cannot express the love we have for him. He has been through so much. He is so happy and our goal is to make him happy, healthy and live a long life. I cannot tha nk you enough for helping the Waveland shelter out. Also running your sanctuary and all the other things you do. I read your diary and it is so heart breaking. It takes a strong person to do what you do. I have the highest respect for you. I will be sending a monthly donation to Project Hope. I sure hope the word is getting out in Mississippi to SPAY & NEUTER. I know that is an active campaign you are working on. I know Mississippi is really struggling with animal rights but you are making a HUGH IMPACT! Thank God for people like you. I do everything I can do in my corner of the world here. We all have to, its all our responsibility as citizens in each of our communities. I worry about the rural south everyday. Words cannot express our gratitude. With admiration. P.S I hope Peaches found justice. Poor animal, I will never forget that story. I hope there is a hell for the monster who did that terrible crime. Sincerely, Dear IDA, I'm writing to say how privileged I feel to have made the acquaintance of Doll Stanley. Thanks for sending her to Mississippi. Doll has earned the admiration and respect of animal lover in the mid-south as we've watched her crusade against animal cruelty. Doll is truly a gifted advocate for animal rights. Edna Durham Lee Dear Doll, I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to you for all that you are doing for the animals. You are truly unique in the sense that you possess compassion and you act on it compassion, courage & commitment. I can only imagine the suffering that you witness firsthand and the human obstacles that you must deal with. My thoughts are with you & and the animals. I am glad that IDA made the decision to focus attention on the animal population in rural America it is a region that warrants this type of attention. As I read through your story and your [diary] excerpts, my heart was deeply touched. Thank you so very much. God Bless You.
