A Diary of Hope

Dear Friends,

Hi Everyone,

I wish I could just talk with you. I really am not good at communicating, but every time I start and finish a letter I feel the conformity of the standardized entry and exit - "Dear So & So," or the exit, " Sincerely" Doll. It drives me crazy. It is so impersonal. Hi seems flippant, but I really do mean Hi. I am glad to be communicating with you. Anyway, here we are with another week well lived, and I want to tell you everything, but don't have the time, memory or words to justify the events. I will simply tell you it went very well.

Margo came from our Mill Valley home office last Monday. She plunged into the data that we have had not had the time, or skill to address. It was wonderful realizing our need to have our data entry bases set up, and nearly all our data entered. You will soon visit our web site and see all the current Project Hope residents, and hopeful adoptees.

Margo was so busy that she had to suffer my cooking, and one good meal at our friends', Heather and Robin. They are delightful, so I know Margo had a great time with them.

Gay and Larry Evaldi opened their beautiful home for us to sleep over. We spent one night here. Margo got a blow up bed loaned to us by Clay, Robin & Heathers' buddy, and I chose the beautiful night to sleep on a lounge chair on the porch. The cool evening had not invited mosquitoes, but as the night wore on they found me, and so did the lucky dogs that sleep with Robin in our staff room. Let's just say I didn't sleep well. I need a mosquito & dog net.

Margo took photos of most of our friends. I am completing the job. The thing that really bugs me about capturing the personality of any being, human, or other is that you can't walk around with a camera and expect them to live up to your quest of the perfect moment. Time, much time is required
to watch quietly as they eat, play, and sleep. I intend to take on this challenge to bring you the best of each of our friends. When I get good, and am obsessed I will renew their images whenever I spot a new experience.I just need to keep the camera batteries charged and the camera at my side.

Margo also got a chance to see our needs here. She has begun a '02 & a '03budget plan for us. I will add to it in the next few days. I am still getting the costs for some of our necessities, and dreams.

Our WWLA event will be postponed. Our few activists are unavailable today. No worry. We can do a P&G awareness soon.

I am going to leave you with a brief report because I have 5 cruelty cases that I am going to try to work today.

I will update you on them.

Tomorrow, I am going to try to take the afternoon off. I never take a day off, but a dear friend of mine from church is fading from cancer. He loves chocolate, and I intend to see that he gets some of my fudge.

Adios everyone. Please keep us in your hearts.
