Doll Stanley
I am going to make this weekly report short & to the point. I am not even sitting down to key it in. I am feeling overwhelmed today - this week. I'll deal with it. This isn't the first, nor will it be the last of the overwhelming weeks.
Yeah! Our office building was delivered yesterday. It is not complete, but will hopefully be in the next week or so. The plumbing has to be done before other work can be completed.
We have moved 40 of our 70 dogs up to the new center. We placed 5 really darling pups last Sunday at PetSmart.
Yesterday we took an Australian shepherd pup, and a beagle with one eye, from our buddy at the Cleveland Shelter. Drew. MS. contracts for euthanasia only. The dogs were to be killed. I felt we could care for, and place them.
We will pick up 3 pomx pups this afternoon, and 3 Dalmatian juveniles Monday. They are coming from neglect/abandonment cases.
70 is our number. I have made that our limit except for extreme cases when we have to hold dogs for court. Even then I try to spread them amongst our friends.
It seems that our media coverage of last week, which included a puppymill we went into, caused the Sheriff to influence the woman into closing down. One hitch, it looks like she sold the dogs to another fella in the Jackson area. I will follow up.
We are gearing up for the legislative session. We have an appointment to meet with the Board of vet. Med. in Jackson. We the aid of 2 well seated vets in approaching them with our revised euthanasia bill. If the response is positive we will seek aid from all possible sources.
I am leaving you with this short report because I have a number of cruelty cases to investigate, and too little time. I am happy to report that the one I investigated Wed. eve. turned out to be a misperception. Yeah! I was very well received by the gentleman the complaint addressed. It was delightful. What a nice break.
