Annie is one of our oldest PH companions. She is 12 now and nearly blind, but she makes it around the sanctuary by smell and sound. She's a love. |

Charlotte has taken up in front of the PH Office. She is inspiring us to do great things. |

Annie is our doggie mascot. Annie has been with us her puppyhood. It was nearly thanksgiving 10 years ago when Doll stopped to rescue what she thought was a pitiful squirrel. It was baby Annie in a terrible state. She has seen it all here; our ice storms, rare snow storms, and the comings and goings of every animal that has been aided by PH. We adore her. |
Barney is our resident feral cat. He is aging with us, and is the most mellow sweetheart. He doesn't want to be inside, or even to be touched. We care for him and he has access to several sleeping arrangements, and he is fed moist food on the porch. Dry food, and water are keep in the shelter of a large dog house that he, and two other feral cats, and a possum share. |
Freckles gives true meaning to gusto. She has a vigor for life that is unmatched, except by her sister. Together they were a little to dominate to be grouped with any other dogs. They each now have their very own hardy buddy to frolic, and tumble with. Freckles would need a home where the strong side of a labs personality was cherished. She does love it here and loves her buddy Arthur. Of course she sets the rules. |
Jennifer is our top cat. Born in our old barn, we brought her in and she has been home ever since. She sleeps and eats in our office. |
Lady was brought to us by a man who rescues dogs, but is unable to care for them himself. She is an adorable middle-aged, laid back dog. Not a bit of trouble. |
Mary Grace lives at PH now, but could be adopted into a proper and loving home. She is delightfully friendly, but knows no boundaries. She is completely full of herself, and we just had to spend $4,000.00 for a huge enclosure to curb her natural, but very time-consuming, and costly activities.can be quiet a handful. We need aid with her care. |
Natalie is the heart and soul of PH. She was a frightened young pig when doll brought her home from an incident with a farmer who wasn't caring for his pigs. She is set in her ways, has the run of two acres of PH, and unless Shelby, her horse hero is around, she just as soon run off anyone else. We can count on her for an occasional waterline eruption, and can always count on her breaking ground for us. |
Doll saved Sabra when her guardians neighbor threatened to kill her for getting into his garden. Amazingly, Sabra is right back where she was rescued. IDA bought the property that Sabra was rescued from, and established PH. She has no desire to wander to anyone's garden, she has true contentment. |
Sweetieface was adopted into a wonderful home, but the husband and father became critically ill, and Sweetie had to come home. She's not a bit sorry, and would love to staff in the staff bed every minute that she isn't touring in the rescue van. She does need a dotting home. |

This is a photo of the latest chickens that we rescued after they fell off of the transport truck on their way to slaughter in Oklahoma. They love it here. |
Polly rests near her buddy Travis just days before his adoption. Polly too loves PH and never wants to leave. However, the right stay at home, take me with you family could win her heart. She is a senior to love on. She will be getting her heartworm treatment as soon as the weather cools. |
Wendy is a loveable, but somewhat timid greyhound mix. Doll rescued her and her family as their mother ran them down a county road in search of animals that had been hit. Sadly her sister was one of the animals hit. Today her family are all in new loving homes. Wendy would love to have her own home too. |
